ABBIE BOTHA

Abbie Botha is a BA Dance Practices student at Middlesex University currently in her third year training in Ballet, Humphrey and Cunningham technique. She started training in Ballet from a young age at her local ballet school, Jacqueline Harmen School of Ballet, completing grades 1 to 8 as well as Intermediate ballet as part of the RAD syllabus, then went on to pursue her passion in dance studying at college where she learnt a variety of new styles such as Jazz, Contemporary and Urban. Abbie has always had a interest in teaching dance and as part of her studies at Middlesex University, she had the opportunity to complete her placement as an assistant / support Dance Teacher at a company called 'Non-Stop Action', which gave an insight into teaching dance as well as Physical Education classes which taught her new skills to develop in dance teaching. Abbie also enjoys the creativity of choreographing her own pieces such as 'Out of Control' and 'False Connection' which were both filmed pieces created whilst studying at Middlesex University. She hopes to gain more skills and continue her journey in dance as well as explore many opportunities in the future.
